SIMMONDS, EMRYS ERNEST (Paddy)

 Korea Casualty

 

The Minister for the Army (Mr. Francis) has notified Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Simmonds, 36 Joffre St., Launceston, of the death of her son, Pte. Emrys Ernest (Paddy) Simmonds who was killed in action in Korea on December 13. The late Pte Simmonds was a member of B.C.O.F. in Japan where he was stationed for two years before volunteering to serve in Korea. He was educated at the Mowbray State School and afterwards attended night classes at the Technics College. He was a member of the Mowbray Presbyterian Sunday School. Aged 21 years, the late Pte Simmonds joined the army in Melbourne. He was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth and the late F. E. Simmonds.
