Quinn, Daniel Augustine
Born Hobart Tasmania, the 5th son of John Quinn, a fireman he embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aneas with the 26th Infantry Battallion. He served in Gallipoli and on the 11th December 1915 he was promoted to Lance Corporal. He departed Gallipoli 21st March 1916 for France and was killed in action at Sausage Valley, Pozieres on the 28th July 1916. He is commemorated in the London Cemetery and Extension, Longueval, France. QUINN. — Killed in action in France, on July 28, 1916, Lance-Corpora! Daniel Augustine (Dan) Quinn, of the 26th Batt. A.I.F.. fifth dearly beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. John Quinn, Dallow, Anglesea street, Hobart, aged 23 years. R.I.P.
