Abbott, Nathaniel Robert

 

 

 

 

 

Born 1892 Evandale Tasmania the son of George and Jane Abbott (nee Jordon) a labourer he embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was wounded 1915 (bullet wound leg) at Gallipoli, Pozieres 1916 (multiple shell wounds) and Polygon Wood 1917 (gunshot wounds hand and thigh).  He died 10th August 1918 at the 83rd General Hospital France from gunshot wounds to the head, hands and legs received at Harbonnieres and was buried in the Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille, France
