Ackroyd, Clyde Ernest

 

 

 

 

Born 1896 Glen Lusk Tasmania the son of John and Margaret Ackroyd (nee Paynter) of “Wattlebanks” Glen Lusk a farmer he embarked Hobart Tasmania 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

On the 5th October 1917 he sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and was admitted to the 10th Casualty Clearing Station where he died from his wounds on the 8th October 1917.  He was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
