Ackroyd, Clyde Ernest

Born 1896 Glen Lusk Tasmania the son of John and Margaret Ackroyd (nee Paynter) of “Wattlebanks” Glen Lusk a farmer he embarked Hobart Tasmania 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

On the 5^th October 1917 he sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and was admitted to the 10^th Casualty Clearing Station where he died from his wounds on the 8^th October 1917. He was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
