Adams, Percy Arnold
The son of John George Adams of Bruny Island he enlisted from Bruny Island early in 1915 and left Tasmania 15th May 1915. He then embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26th Infantry Battalion. He landed at Gallipoli in 1915 and served there until the evacuation.
He died at the 6th Australian Field Ambulance 24th May 1916 from a shell wound to the thigh and was buried in the Erquinghem-Lys Churchyard Extension, Erquinghem-Lys, Lille, Nord Pas de Calais, France
He was the first Bruny Island soldier to lay down his life for the Empire
