Aherne Reginald Percival

 

 

 

 

Born 7th October 1885 Hobart Tasmania to James and Helena Louisa Aherne (nee Grant) a labourer who departed Melbourne 19th February 1915 on board “HMAT Runic” with the 15th Artillery Battalion.

 

Was wounded at Gallipoli, returned to England and declared fit for Home Service.  He had been at Westham Camp for 14 months when he went missing and was found next day drowned in Weymouth Harbour on 23rd September 1917.

He was buried in the Melcombe Regis Cemetery, United Kingdom.
