Alcock Hilary Linus

 

Born 3rd April 1894 Hobart Tasmania the son of Christopher Francis and Annie Augusta Alcock (nee McShean) a cordial driver with Cascade Brewery he embarked Melbourne 24th August 1916 on board “HMAT Botanist” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 6th April 1917 at Lagnicourt when he was hit by machine gun fire and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Villers-Bretonneux Area, France

 

ALCOCK. -Killed in action in France, between April 6 and 10, 1917, Private Hilary L. (Harry) Alcock, aged 23 years, youngest son of Annie and the late Christopher Alcock, 31 Mary-street, late of Campania. Beloved by all who knew him.
