Alford, Thomas Wm Barker

Born 2^nd April 1885 Launceston Tasmania to George Frederick and Emma Huband Alford (nee Barker) he was married and a farrier when he enlisted.

He joined the Australian Imperial Force in Melbourne at the outbreak of war in August 1914. He left for Egypt with the 2^nd Brigade took part in the landing at Gallipoli and was killed whilst trying to rescue a wounded comrade. He died somewhere between the 8^th and 12^th May 1915.

He is commemorated on the Helles Memorial Gallipoli.
