Alford, Thomas Wm Barker
Born 2nd April 1885 Launceston Tasmania to George Frederick and Emma Huband Alford (nee Barker) he was married and a farrier when he enlisted. He joined the Australian Imperial Force in Melbourne at the outbreak of war in August 1914. He left for Egypt with the 2nd Brigade took part in the landing at Gallipoli and was killed whilst trying to rescue a wounded comrade. He died somewhere between the 8th and 12th May 1915. He is commemorated on the Helles Memorial Gallipoli.
