Allan, William Patrick

Born Apsley Tasmania the son of William Charles and Ellen Gertrude Allen an accountant he embarked Melbourne 22^nd October 1915 on board “HMAT Persic” with the 6^th Field Artillery Brigade.

He was promoted to Corporal 11^th March 1916 and on the 16^th June 1916 again promoted this time to Sergeant. On the 13^th March 1917 at his own request he reverted to the rank of Gunner.

He was serving with the 5^th Brigade Field Artillery when he was killed in action 27^th July 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Voormezeele Enclosure No 3, Voormezeele, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
