Allan, William Patrick
Born Apsley Tasmania the son of William Charles and Ellen Gertrude Allen an accountant he embarked Melbourne 22nd October 1915 on board “HMAT Persic” with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade.
He was promoted to Corporal 11th March 1916 and on the 16th June 1916 again promoted this time to Sergeant. On the 13th March 1917 at his own request he reverted to the rank of Gunner.
He was serving with the 5th Brigade Field Artillery when he was killed in action 27th July 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Voormezeele Enclosure No 3, Voormezeele, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
