Allen, Leonard Oliver

Born 25^th September 1875 Port Sorell Tasmania the son of Osborne and Elizabeth Margaret Allen (nee Oliver) married to Mary Aspell a miner he embarked Melbourne 25^th May 1916 on board “HMAT Warilda” with the No 4 Tunnelling Company.

On the 16^th August 1916 he was admitted to the No 2 Command Depot Weymouth and diagnosed with tuberculosis in both lungs. He left England 9^th September 1916 on board Hospital Ship “Kanowna” for return to Australia for medical discharge.

He arrived in Tasmania on the 28^th October 1916 and was discharged as being medically unfit on the 10^th May 1917.

He died 18^th September 1918 at Derby Tasmania and was buried in the Branxholm Derby Cemetery, Branxholm, Tasmania, Australia
