Allen, Paul

 

 

Born 28th August 1897 Glamorgan Tasmania to Egbert and Lucy Allen (nee Thornbury) a farmer who departed Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.He was serving with the 51st Infantry Battalion when he died 3rd April 1917 from wounds received on the field and was buried in the Pozieres British Cemetery Ovillers-La Boisselle, France.

His brother Pte Edwin Allen (No 329) was killed in action 28th July 1917 and buried in the Kandahar Farm Cemetery, Belgium.
