ALLPORT, MORTON
Morton Allport, the Tasmanian aviator, who came to England to take charge of the aeroplane presented by the State to Great Britain, has been reported "missing" for some days, and there is little doubt that he was killed in a big airfight on the "Western Front. It was later reported that he was killed in aerial combat on 10th November 1916 while flying in a Fienvillers Sopwith 1½ Strutter. The plane came down behind the German lines.
