If you could spare a few dollars to help with the running costs of hosting this website to keep it alive would be very much appreciated.

Thankyou from Gravesites of Tasmania in advance.

ANDREWS, CLARANCE JAMES

PORTRAIT OF 6708 PRIVATE CLARENCE JAMES ANDREWS, 12TH BATTALION, KILLED IN ACTION 1917-04-6/10.

The Reverend G E Moore of George Town last week had the painful duty to convey to Mr and Mrs Stephen Andrews that their son, Private Clarence James Andrews had paid the supreme sacrifice in France between the 6th and 12th April.  The deceased young man was the sixth son of Mr and Mrs Andrews and left Tasmania some 12 months or more and had evidently taken part in the ‘great push’.  Two other sons, William and Stephen are also on active service in France
