Armstrong, Ernest James
He was born 1883 Elliott Tasmania the son of James and Frances Armstrong (nee Carty), a farmer who embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 25th April 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. His brother Stanley Russell Armstrong (No 105) was also killed in action 1st September 1918 in France and was buried in the Suzanne Military Cemetery No 3, France.
