Ashton, Ellis Wordsworth
Studio portrait of 3255 Private (Pte) Ellis Wordsworth Ashton, 7th Reinforcements, 26th Battalion, of North Motton, Tas. A clerk prior to enlistment on 25 August 1915, Ashton embarked from Hobart aboard HMAT Ajana on 13 December 1915. He was killed in action on 23 July 1916, at Pozieres, France, aged 18 years, whilst serving with the 12th Battalion.
