Atkinson Thomas Christopher
He was born Ballarat Victoria the son of Thomas Richard Atkinson but living in Moina Tasmania and working as a miner when he enlisted at Pontville Tasmania. He departed Melbourne 22nd December 1914 on board “HMAT Ceramic” with the 15th Infantry Battalion. He died 2nd May 1915 at sea on board HMT “Dongola” from a gunshot wound to the abdomen received on the Gallipoli Peninsula and was buried at sea. He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
