Austin, Evared

Born 20^th January 1888 Launceston Tasmania to Thomas and Elizabeth Austin (nee Barker) a labourer who enlisted in the 4^th Battalion 14^th October 1915 discharged 17^th July 1916 enlisted AIF 9^th Machine Gun Company 18^th July 1916 and was appointed Lance Corporal 16^th June 1917.

He died in the battle of Broodseinde when a shell fell on him while he was operating his gun, he was buried where he fell and is commemorated in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Belgium.
