Bailey, Henry John

 

 

Born 1893 Parattah Tasmania the son of Henry and Amy Bailey (nee Tapp) he embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He died 6th November 1915 from enteric fever contracted on the Gallipoli Peninsula and died on board HS Somali and was buried at sea.  He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale Province, Turkey
