Banfield, Henry Charles
Born 1895 North Motton Tasmania the son of Henry and Ann Banfield (nee Brooks) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 2nd February 1915 on board “Clan McGillivray” with the 10th Infantry Battalion bound for the Gallipoli Peninsula. He was serving with the 26th Infantry Battalion when he was killed in action 29th July 1916 and like others with no known grave is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. He is also commemorated on the War Memorial at Ulverstone.
