Bantick, George Henry

 

Born 20th May 1897 Fingal Tasmania to George and Harriet Bantick (nee Vincent) who been rejected twice because of a weak heart and being short winded was finally accepted and departed Melbourne 28th February 1918 on board “HMAT Nestor with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 He was ill as soon as he arrived in England with measles and bronchitis and finally died from pneumonia 4th June 1918 in England and was buried 6th June 1918 in the Sutton Veny (St John) Churchyard, United Kingdom.  He was 20 years old.
