Barker, Oliver Allen

 

Born 1897 Ulverstone Tasmania the son of Elijah and Jane Barker (nee Hales) a butcher he embarked Melbourne 8th February 1916 on board “HMAT Warilda” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 52nd Battalion when he was killed instantly 11th April 1917 by a direct hit by shell at Bullecourt and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
