Barlow Frank Clifford
Born 4th June 1885 Latrobe Tasmania to Henry and Elizabeth Barlow (nee Southernwood) a farmer’s assistant, he embarked Melbourne 22nd December 1914 on board “HMAT Themistocles” with the 6th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 8th May 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey. Private F C (Cliff) Barlow fifth son of Mr and Mrs H Barlow “Willow Glen” Turner’s Marsh who was killed in action at the Dardanelles completed his 30th year on June 4th. His boyhood days were spent at Dunloran. He was well known in Launceston cycling circles. Previous to enlisting he was farming up country in Victoria. He sailed with the second Victorian contingent in December last. A sister, (Mrs J Dargaville) resides in Launceston, also two brothers, Messrs Harry and Claude Barlow.
