Barnard, Arthur Victor

 

 

Born 31st October 1895 Deloraine Tasmania to Arthur and Alice Barnard (nee Bailey) a motor mechanic who departed Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Katuna” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

Warrant Officer Barnard was walking back from Zonnebeke to headquarters when he was wounded in both legs from a shell and later died at the 12th Australian Field Ambulance 22nd October 1917 and was buried in the Menin Road South Military Cemetery, Belgium.
