Batchelor, Archibald Walter
Born 1894 Port Cygnet Tasmania to George John James and Annie Alice Batchelor (nee Woodward) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 27th September 1915 on board “HMAT Hororata” with the 26th Infantry Battalion. He was appointed sergeant nine days before he was killed in action. Sergeant Batchelor was killed in action 13th November 1916 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
