Studio portrait of 4287 Private (Pte) Norman Eric Beard, 12th Battalion, of Sandy Bay, Tas. Pte Beard enlisted on 27 September 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Afric on 5 January 1916. Between 6 and 10 April 1917 he was killed in action at Boursies in the Bapaume area of France
