Bidulph, Frank

 

Born 1st September 1871 Sorell Tasmania the son of Thomas and Jane Bedelph (nee Monk) a miner and prospector living at Zeehan Tasmania.  He enlisted Ross and embarked Sydney 31st March 1916 on board “HMAT Star of Victoria” with the No 1Mining Corps - 2 and 3 Reinforcements. 

He arrived France 17th May 1916 and on the 20th June 1916 was admitted to the No 26 General Hospital France with pleurisy.  On the 7th July 1916 he was transferred to England and died 10 days later on the 17th July from pneumonia and meningitis. 

He was buried in the Cambridge City Cemetery, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom. 

Mr. F. K. Astell of Stowport has received news from Cambridge (Eng.) of the death of Mr Frank Bidulph from pleurisy. Mr. Bidulph who was a native of the Sorell   district and a single man about 42 years of age was well-known on the West Coast. He enlisted at Tullah for active service with the Miners' Corp's.
