Billinghurst, George

Born 1898 Hobart Tasmania the son of Charles Henry and Mary Ann Billinghurst (nee Jones) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 25^th October 1916 on board “HMAT Ulysses” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 12^th October 1917 at Passchendaele Ridge Belgium when hit by machine gun fire and is commemorated in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Passchendaele, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
