Birchall, Norman Sydney

Born 1892 Sorell Tasmania the son of Sydney and Mary Ann Birchal (nee Phipps) single a labourer he embarked Hobart Tasmania 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 12^th October 1917 at Passchendaele Belgium when he was hit by pieces of a shell and is commemorated on the The Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial (Panel 29), Belgium
