Bishop Stanley Charles

 

Private Stanley Baker (Bishop) of the AIF

 

Born 17th September 1891 Launceston Tasmania the son of Frederick and Sarah Bishop (nee Cox) a labourer he embarked Sydney 23rd June 1916 on board “HMAT Barambah” with the 56th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 26th September 1916 at Polygon Wood and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Flanders, Belgium
