Blacklow, William Ed. Meredith
Born Broadmarsh Tasmania,the son of James Edmund and Eliza Blacklow (nee Ferguson) he embarked Melbourne 16th October 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was serving with the 51st Battalion when he returned to Australia and died 8th October 1919 Hobart Tasmania from gangrene of the lung and was buried in Cornelian Bay Cemetery. His brother Norman Ferguson Blacklow (No 6241) was killed in action 15th April 1917 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. BLACKLOW.-On October 8, 1919, at the 9th Base Hospital, Military Barracks, Private William Edwin, 61st Battalion, A.I.F., and dearly beloved youngest son of the late J. E. and E. I. Blacklow, in the 29th year of his age. Beloved, now resting.
