Bounds, John Cecil

 

Born 17th June 1891 Longford Tasmania to Annie Bounds a labourer who departed Melbourne 17th July 1915 on “HMAT Orsova” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 He was killed in action at Pozieres 5th August 1916 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France

Mrs. E. Manning, of St. Leonards has been officially informed that her brother Private J. C. Bounds, has been killed in France by a shell explosion. The deceased soldier served right through the Gallipoli campaign, going from there to France. Another brother is in France, and one on his way to the front.
