BRADLEY, JACK KEITH
Pre-embarkation studio portrait of 289 Private Jack Keith Bradley, 12th Battalion, of Launceston, Tas. A tailor prior to enlistment, Pte Bradley embarked on HMAT Geelong from Hobart on 20th October 1914. Originally reported as missing in action, he was later confirmed as being killed in action on 25th April 1915. His body was later located and exhumed from its temporary grave and re-interred in the Shell Green Cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bradley have now received definite official advice of the death of their son Private J K. Bradley of the famous 12th Battalion. The young soldier, it will be remembered, landed at Gallipoli and was reported as missing and many months afterwards his disc and personal effects reached his people. Notification from the Defence Department is now to the effect that the finding of the enquiry board is that Private Bradley was killed in action between April 25 the day of the historic landing and April 28, 1915. The Examiner 30th October 1916
