Bramich, Alden Bernard
Born 1891 Mersey Tasmania the son of Bernard Harrison and Alice Bramich (nee Ballantyne) and married to Myra Ramskill, a farmer he embarked Melbourne 16th October 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 15th Infantry Battalion. He was serving with the 47th Battalion when he was killed instantly by a shell 12th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium. His brother Tyson Kenneth Bramich (No 2722) was killed in action 19th August 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Derry House Cemetery No 2, Belgium. Mrs. Myra Bramich of Myalla, has been officially notified that her husband, Corporal Alden Bernard Bramich has been 'missing' since October 13. Lance Corpl Kenneth Bramich was killed in action in August, and Corporal Carroll Bramich has just arrived home from France as the result of a wounded hand. These soldiers have all seen much fighting and endured many hardships for King and country. They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Bramich, of 'Horton,' Myalla, the grandsons of Mrs. Ballantyne, of Penguin, brothers of Mrs. F H. Williams, of Somerset. The North Western Advocate 14th November 1917
