Bramich, Leonard Robert
Born 1895 Table Cape Tasmania the son of William James and Helen Jane Bramich a farm labourer he embarked Adelaide 10th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 7th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, West-Vlaanderen, Flanders, Belgium. His twin brother Pte Lindsay Bramich died from shell wounds 15th March 1918 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial. The sad news was communicated to Mr. and Mrs. William Bramich Somerset by Rev. J. Tryon Wilson on Thursday afternoon that their son, Private Leonard Robert Bramich had been killed in action in France on the 7th October. Private Bramich was 22 years of age and left with the 12th Battalion about 12 months ago. His twin brother Lindsay was also a member of the 12th and is still at the front.
