The Simpson Prize – Connor Bramich

 

Born 1895 Table Cape Tasmania the son of William James and Helen Jane Bramich a a farm labourer he embarked Adelaide 10th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. 

He died 15th March 1918 at the 11th Casualty Clearing Station in France from shell wounds to the right shoulder, back and neck and was buried in the Godewaersvelde British Cemetery, France

His twin brother Leonard Robert Bramich (No 7195) was killed in action 7th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial.

The sorrowful tidings came last week to Mr. and Mrs. W. Bramich Somerset, that their son Pte. Lindsay Bramich, of the 12th Battalion had died at the 11th Casualty Station on March 15 from gunshot wounds. It is only five months ago since his twin brother Leonard was killed in action. Sincere sympathy is expressed with the family in their loss.
