Breward, George

Born Deloraine Tasmania and married to Emma Berryman a labourer he embarked Hobart 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima’ with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 12^th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.

Mrs Breward of Beauty Point received the painful news through the Reverend J H Harrison that her husband Private G Breward is now reported killed in action. Some time ago Mrs Breward was notified that her husband was reported wounded and missing. The late Private Breward left with the 40^th Battalion. He saw service in the Boer War. He leaves a widow and six children.
