Breward, George
Born Deloraine Tasmania and married to Emma Berryman a labourer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima’ with the 40th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 12th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium. Mrs Breward of Beauty Point received the painful news through the Reverend J H Harrison that her husband Private G Breward is now reported killed in action. Some time ago Mrs Breward was notified that her husband was reported wounded and missing. The late Private Breward left with the 40th Battalion. He saw service in the Boer War. He leaves a widow and six children. The Weekly Courier 27th June 1918
