Studio portrait of 7231 Private (Pte) Henry Charles (Charles) Briggs, 12th Battalion, of Hobart, Tas. A clerk prior to enlisting in October 1916, Pte Briggs embarked from Adelaide with the 24th Reinforcements on board HMAT Seang Bee (A48) on 10 February 1917. Pte Briggs was killed in action at Merris, France, on 30 July 1918. He was 18 years of age
