Briggs, Charles Joseph

Born 15^th January 1888 Brighton Junction Tasmania the son of Charles William and Thurza Briggs (nee Hanslow) married to Ethel Louisa Sims a labourer he embarked Melbourne 5^th January 1916 on board “HMAT Afric” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 19^th August 1916 at Moquet Farm in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
