Briggs, Charles Joseph

 

Born 15th January 1888 Brighton Junction Tasmania the son of Charles William and Thurza Briggs (nee Hanslow) married to Ethel Louisa Sims a labourer he embarked Melbourne 5th January 1916 on board “HMAT Afric” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 19th August 1916 at Moquet Farm in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
