Bruce, Wyndle James
Born 1890 Green Ponds Tasmania the son of Walter Edward James and Victoria Bruce (nee Reardon) he embarked Melbourne 2nd February 1915 on board “HMAT Clan McGillivray” with the 15th Infantry Battalion. He died 9th August 1915 from wounds received on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale Province, Turkey General regret was expressed at Broadmarsh when it became known that. Private Wyndle Bruce of the 15th Battalion had died of wounds at the Dardanelles on August 9. He was 25 years of age and was a fine athlete, being a good sprinter, footballer and cricketer.
