Brumby Adrian Dan

 

Born 6th December 1893 Strahan Tasmania the son of Charles William and Jane Louisa Dean (nee Dean) a carter he embarked Melbourne 10th September 1915 on board SS Makarini with the 26th Infantry Battalion

 

He was killed in action 29th July 1916 at Pozieres in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France.

Mr Chas Brumby of Zeehan received a cable yesterday afternoon from the Defence Department stating that his son, Adrian Brumby had been missing in France since July 29 last Adrian, who is well known in Zeehan has been with the forces for some time now and was with the Australians in Egypt and Gallipoli before proceeding to France.
