GEEVESTON.

WELL-KNOWN SOLDIER KILLED.

The very sad news has come to hand that Private Richard Leslie. Burgess, second eldest son of Councillor Burgess has been killed in action. Private Burgess, who is well known and highly esteemed throughout the district took part in the great Somme battles of last year, where he was wounded, but recovered again and participated in the recent battles.

Very general and sincere sympathy is everywhere expressed for his parents, his mother already mourning the loss of a brother, Lieut Norman Dickson, who fell at Gallipoli.
