Button, John Joseph

 

Born 1889 Longford Tasmania to Joseph and Catherine Button (nee Bolton) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 17th July 1915 on board “HMAT Orsova’ with the 26th Infantry Battalion for the Gallipoli Peninsula

Cpl Button died 16th August 1918 at the 55th Casualty Clearing Station France from a shell wound to the right thigh and was buried in the Daours Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
