BUXTON, JOHN CECIL
On Thursday Mr. Hooper, Methodist missionary, had to perform the painful duty of acquainting Mrs. Buxton, of Wilmot, of the death of her son John in France. He went away with the 40th Battalion, but was transferred into another Tasmanian unit soon after he reached England. He was killed on December 21. Mrs. Buxton has another son in England; he went in the 4th reinforcements for the 40th Battalion. Examiner 16th Jan 1917
