Challis, William Alfred
Born 3rd February 1889 Deep Bay Tasmania the son of William and Matilda Ann Challis (nee Cohen) a labourer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.
He was serving with the 51st Battalion when he was killed in action 24th April 1918 in France and is commemorated in the Adelaide Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
