Chamley Leighton Ormond
Born 1887 Mole Creek Tasmania the third son of William Henry and Catherine Elizabeth Chamley, a miner he embarked Melbourne 6th June 1916 on board “HMAT Wandilla” with the 3rd Pioneer Battalion.
Sgt Chamley was killed in action 29th July 1918 and is commemorated in the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
His brother Rupert Chamley died 22nd December 1915 from wounds received on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial Gallipoli Turkey.
