Chapman Lewis Bennie

Born Ulverstone the son of John Sayer and Mary Ann Chapman (nee Haine) a 22 year old blacksmith he enlisted Melbourne and served with the 29^th Australian Infantry Battalion.

Sergeant Chapman was killed in action 27^th September 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Flanders, Belgium
