Cherry, William Archibald

Born 4^th December 1892 Ringarooma Tasmania to William Samuel and Alice Mary Cherry (nee Curtis he was a labourer when he enlisted and was posted to the 12^th Battalion. 

He departed Hobart 20^th October 1914 on “HMAT Geelong”. 

He was wounded in action at Gallipoli and on 20^th April 1917 promoted to corporal and a couple of months later on 9^th June 1917 he was promoted to sergeant. He was killed in action 7^th October 1917 in Belguim
