Chopping Charles Isaac

Born 1889 Franklin Tasmania to Isaac Hooper and Lucy Elizabeth Chopping (nee Smith) an engine driver he embarked Fremantle 2^nd October 1914 on board “HMAT Ascanius” with the 11^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 19^th May 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated in the Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.

His brother Pte Reginald Eric Chopping (No 2228) died in Egypt 29^th January 1916 from meningitis and was buried in the Ismailia War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
