Christensen, Carl Henry
Born Melbourne Victoria the son of Charles and Edith Christensen a salesman who enlisted Tasmania he embarked Hobart 8th August 1916 on board “HMAT Ballarat” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.
He was killed in action Christmas Day 1916 at Armentieres when he was hit by a shell and killed instantly. He is commemorated in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, Lille, France. CHRISTENSEN.-Killed in action, in France, on 25th December, 1916, Private Carl Henry Christensen, aged 19 years 3 months of 199 Lonsdale street, Melbourne, late employee of Sargood Bros. (Inserted by bereaved parents, brother, and sisters.)
