Clarke Cyril Henry

 

 

 

Born 6th September 1892 to Henry Frederick and Ada Maria Clarke (nee Winter) and was a driver at a sawmill when he enlisted.

Embarked Melbourne 8th February 1916 with the 12th Battalion “HMAT Warilda” and was killed in action at Messines

CLARKE.-Killed in action in France, 7th June, 1917. Private Cyril Henry Clarke, eldest dearly beloved son of Henry F. and Ada M. Clarke of Lietinna, aged 24 years 9 months. Deeply mourned. Somewhere in France they have laid him, who answered Australia's call; So died an Australian hero 'Tis the noblest death of all’
